Hi hotmama, I love that! I have heard of this rare rythm disorder. I saw a documentary where a teenage girl was diagnosed. And, the EKG looked practically normal. A doctor happend to see a very slight issue and when they investigated it further, they found out she could have died. And, yes they also said it was genetic....so did you go ahead with the genetic testing? I apologize if that is too personal and of course, you do not need to tell me anything that makes you uncomfortable. Thanks for sharing your story...I am sure you have saved someone's life! Hi Molly! Thanks for your comment! Not too personal at all... you should have seen me at Rotary today! I was personal in front of lots of people. Yes, we are in the process currently of genetic testing. Dan's blood is literallly there now! It takes several weeks to determine the genes. The Brugada doctors have located 5 genes linked with the fatal arrythmia. There is a ~30% chance that they can locate the gene. If they do, then we will have the Hott kids evaluated for genetic testing. Education about this crazy thing is important, not just for us but others as well! It's not really "my" story, you know... today at Rotary, Mr. Seely (who, by the way has not been to a meeting in ages due to health reasons) came and happened to sit at my table for lunch. Before the meal was over (before I even made the presentation) promised to buy an AED for Violet's school! AMEN! After the presentation, he committed to purchasing AEDs for every school in Morgan County! God was super cool today! As you can see, I like to talk. Hope I didn't answer with too much! And hey, I think Mr. Seely saved lives today buy getting the schools AEDs! Do me a favor, post the link to all your friends and we can save another. Thanks again! love, a
